Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi

Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your tour guide/driver who will brief you on your safari and then after transfer you to The Boulevard Hotel in Nairobi for rest and overnight stay.

Day 2: Nairobi – Ruiki Cultural village in kiambu and visit to the Bomas of Kenya

After breakfast, depart to Ruiki Cultural Village and spend the morning part of the day there. Return to Nairobi for lunch. In the afternoon at 2.30pm visit the Bomas of Kenya, you cannot afford to miss the most existing traditional dancers and acrobatic shows. The Bomas of Kenya offers Kenya’s culture in miniature! It is a must to all visitors who visit Kenya and are interested in having a taste of African Culture. In the evening, you will transfer back to your hotel for rest and overnight.

DSC09089Day 3: Nairobi Beauty Parlors Visits

Spend the whole day visiting Nairobi’s renowned beauty parlors discussing their perceptions of beauty. You will also visit beauty Products Company like Mars limited to see insight on their products and their sales target groups.

Day 4: Nairobi – Kisumu

Check out after morning breakfast and transfer to Airport for schedule flight to Kisumu international airport. Upon arrival, you will be taken to Kit- Mikaye (This rock is where Mikaye the mother of Luo tribe sheltered herself after along journey down the Nile) drive back to Kisumu for Lunch.

After Lunch, go for a Kisumu City tour which takes you to Dunga Beach Women Fish Bandas, Kisumu Museum, The Kisumu city market to interact with the Women in the Market and Children’s Homes, women groups and back to your hotel.

DSC09049Day 5: Kisumu – Kogelo Village

After breakfast, depart and head through Kisumu Busia road to Kogelo Village ancestral home of 44th US president Barack Obama. En route, you will reach Maseno University gates and proceed just 150 meters from the Maseno University gates to the Equator Line Point. After a photographic session on the Equator line, you will proceed to Luanda town then, you will divert to the left heading straight to Ngiya market. If you arrive on a Tuesday, then you will be lucky to have a glimpse of the market day at Ngiya. You then proceed and divert onto the left just before you reach Mbeji Academy onto the Murram road. You will then take about 15 minutes before you arrive at the Kogelo Dispensary on your right. After a visit of the dispensary proceed to the Kogelo market, Kogelo primary school and Senator Barack Obama Secondary School. You will then enter Sarah Obama’s home behind the secondary school.

Day 6: Kogelo Village   – Cultural Village –Busia Border – Kampala

After morning breakfast, you will depart for Siaya in Alego where you will be taken to the local homesteads where you will experience the cultural dances, Nyatiti traditional music, Ohangla playing and the local community market. You will also visit the local dispensary and the local markets. You will then proceed, into the local secondary and primary schools where you may donate you educational books if any. You also visit a women’s group to discuss on their perceptions on beauty & culture. After lunch, you will proceed to Kampala Uganda to arrive in time at Speke Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Kampala cultural day

Early morning breakfast, visit the Kasubi Tombs, these are the traditional royal tombs for the Kabaka’s of Buganda situated a few kilometers away from the city center. These tombs of impressive ancient architecture are a very important symbol for the Baganda. The big round hut is where 4 of the 37 kings of Buganda were buried. Precede to the Wamala tombs. This is a place of ritual and ceremony involving the dead king’s (Suuna11) umbilical cord, jawbone and other magical objects. The Baganda traditional dancers will be at hand to entertain you. In the afternoon, return to Kampala, lunch, and then visit the Uganda Museum that showcases many traditional artifacts including historical musical instruments, Owino market, and national theater and then end your day with a visit to Owino market.

Day 8: Kampala – Jinja (Approximately 2 hours)    

Get up early, breakfast and then drive east to Jinja, the land of the Basoga tribe. On your way, you will visit another cultural site of the Baganda people. This is the beautiful Sezibwa falls, used by the Kabakas for traditional healing. A witch doctor lives on the site and Ugandans from all over the country come and visit the site regularly. Drive through the Mabira forest to Jinja. After lunch you will visit the source of the River Nile.

Day 9: Jinja – Bujagali Falls – Kampala

After breakfast, visit the fascinating Bujagali falls, where you will meet the magical “Spirit Healer” whose remarkable abilities have made him a legend. Later visit a local fishing village. Return to your hotel for Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the local villages and experience first-hand how the Basoga live, you will be entertained by the Basoga dancers, and later return to Kampala Speke hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Kampala – Nairobi – Arusha

On this day, you will be transferred early at 5:00am at the Entebbe international Airport for schedule flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Namanga border to be received by our representatives for Tanzania Arusha. Arrive in good time to check into an Arusha hotel for lunch and spend the afternoon visiting several beauty parlors in Arusha. Discuss with the women on their perception on beauty and culture.

Day 11: Mulala Women Cultural Tour

After morning breakfast at your hotel, you shall be picked up at 0900hrs to visit Mulala cultural tour and drop-off to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha. Lunch – prepared by the local women villagers.

Mulala Women Cultural Program is a grass root eco-tourism program at work, which has created a support system for women at Mulala Village, a settlement built on the slopes of Mount Meru. The experience begins with your drive through the lush green vegetation and darting through the various farms striving to practice a fusion of modern farming techniques built on yesteryears traditional experiences. Such methodologies are the success stories where one gets to experience;

(1) Cheese production at work with the finished product being supplied to the nearby hotels and markets

(2) A scenic walk through the coffee and banana farms providing a glimpse of every day challenges at work

(3) A talk and interaction with local Mulala women and villagers

(4) Guests on the Mulala Cultural Program also have the opportunity to enjoy the organic food samples prepared by the women. At the farm, you can enjoy a wholesome lunch prepared by the local women. These experiences are refreshing as well as entertaining. Day 12: Arusha-Mto wa Mbu – Karatu

Departs from Arusha in the morning 08:30am drive to Lake Manyara/mto wa mbu village, this is only place in Tanzania where it has concentration of all tribes and tribal groups, a local guide will take you around the village, proceed to Karatu and then have a Village walk in Karatu around Tloma village time allowing.Lunch shall be provided en route to Lake Manyara Lodge.

Day 13: Karatu–Arusha – Nairobi

After morning breakfast, depart to Nairobi via Arusha. Arrive in goodtime for evening rest, and overnight stay at Boulevard Hotel.

Day 14: Nairobi – Departure

On this day, at your on time, you will be picked to be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight to your next destination.
