6 Days, Best of kenya’s Wildlife.

 Trip Highlights: This safari will take you through the Great Rift Valley, the only earth feature observable from space. You will be able to see plenty of wildlife varying from Kenya’s Big five, the lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and the cheetah among a host of other different animal species.

 Itinerary:

 Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Pick up from airport by our tour manager then depart for Masai Mara in the through the Great Rift Valley arriving at the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Then proceed for your afternoon game drive.

The Masai Mara National Reserve as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya covers an area of over 1,500 sq. km. it is located in the Great Rift valley in an open primarily grassland where wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserves western escarpment. The swampy land provides more access to water and less access to tourists. The Eastern end is closest to Nairobi and hence easier to access by tourists.

DSC09120Day 2: Maasai Mara

Spend the whole day in Masai Mara gamed Reserve which is commonly known for the ‘big five’. Early morning game drive before breakfast, after breakfast proceed to the next game drive till lunch time. Later, there will be afternoon game drive.

The wildebeests are the most dominant inhabitants of the Masai Mara. Their numbers are estimated in the millions. The great migration starts in July each year when well over one million wildebeest along with large numbers of Thompson’s gazelles, zebra and other herbivores migrate from the Serengeti plains in Tanzania to fresh pastures in the north and then back south again in October. The park is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.

Day 3: Maasai Mara

Spend the better part of the early morning exploring the park in a pre breakfast game drive and get a chance to see elephants and giraffes among other wildlife.

Masai Mara Balloon Flight

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 4: Mara – Nakuru

After breakfast check out then proceed to Lake Nakuru Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive where you stand a chance to see some of the most endangered species like white rhino and Rothschild giraffe among others.

Lake Nakuru is a shallow strongly alkaline lake set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest.

The lakes catchment is bounded by the Menengai crater to the North, the Bahati hills to the north east, the lion hill ranges to the east, eburu crater to the south and the mau escarpment to the west. Three rivers, the Njoro, makalia and the Enderit drain into the lake.

Lodge: Lake Nakuru lodge or similar.

Day 5: Nakuru – Nairobi.

Pre-breakfast game drive then after breakfast you go for another game drive until afternoon after that we depart for Nairobi for Dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Panafric hotel.

Day 6: Nairobi

After breakfast, you will go for an Excursion for the city tour then later in the day you will a have a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

 End of safari.
