10 Days / 9 Nights,Kenya wildlife Trail and Gorilla tracking and wildlife Safari in Uganda

Tour features: This is a camping adventure which starts from Nairobi and ends in Nairobi. You will be able to visit the New 7Th wonder of the World ; the Maasai Mara Game Reserve; the most popularly visited game reserve in Kenya and the famous Bwindi impenetrable national park; home to the
remaining Mountain Gorillas’ in Uganda where you will discover and interact with the close cousins of man ; the Gorillas. This is one of the most adventurous safari with unforgettable experience. You will stay in tented camps and lodges while on this safari and use a minibus in Kenya and a 4×4
safari vehicle while in Uganda.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara;

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi, you will be met by our tour manager and tour/driver guide who will brief you on your , and then start your journey to Maasai Mara through the flow of Great Rift Valley arriving on time for lunch. Have lunch at Mara Serena lodge. Then afternoon game drives till dusk.

Dinner and overnight at Mara leisure camp or similar.

Day 2: Maasai Mara;

After breakfast, have full game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve. Drive back to the lodge for your lunch, then afternoon game drive till dusk.

The Maasai Mara , now the 7th wonder of the world and 4th preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance ad variety that it is difficult to imagine The annual migration of the wildebeest and the zebras from the Serengeti in such of water and pasture while being followed on their heels by the predators of the savannah; Lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. It hosts over 450 species of animals which includes lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

Day 3: Maasai Mara

Sunrise over the open grassland signals the start of a full day on the game-filled plains; photograph the stately black maned Lion, Cheetah, or Leopard, stocking defenseless herds of Wildebeest and other herbivores.

The Masai Mara is famous for it’s black maned lions, elephants and buffalo that make three out of the ‘big five’ though luck is essential for spotting
the other two namely park’s animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, and Maasai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture. In the late afternoon (at an extra cost), go for optional activities like having a nature walk, visiting Maasai villages to see the nomadic lifestyle or swimming in the nearby lodges.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 4: Maasai Mara;

Whole day in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficulty to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here.

Don’t forget your check-list and look out for the lion, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopards, elephant, many kinds of antelopes, birds and shrubs…and of course the wildebeests and zebras-the migration hordes!

DSC05015Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi;

Pre breakfast game drive followed by heavy breakfast at the campsite and depart for Nairobi with game viewing en-route as you leave the park. Arrive Nairobi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Fairview Hotel in Nairobi.

Day 6: Nairobi – Entebbe – Bwindi / Mgahinga National Parks

After an early breakfast, you will depart your hotel for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your trip to Entebbe by morning flight. So, you must be at the Airport 2 hours before the departure time.

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our tour manager who will brief you on your safari then depart from Entebbe by road. You will set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas or Mgahinga national park depending where permits will be available. It is estimated half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas -300 live within Bwindi and Mgahinga boundaries. Cross the Equator and continue southwards passing through Ankole grassland, stop for long horned Ankole cattle viewing along the road. The drive is long but enjoyable with lunch stop on the way. Bwindi National Park is located in the southwestern part of the country at the edges of Kigezi Highlands once known as Switzerland of Africa before the drop of the Western Rift Valley.

Both National Parks offer a dramatic steeply forested landscape and are incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Among the gorilla families that live in this forest have been habituated for tourism and although trekking may be strenuous the viewing of the gorillas in their natural habitat is an experience long to be savored. Apart from the gorillas, there are a variety of primates to be seen including the blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and black & white colobus monkeys. The great blue turacos are often seen and even for a non bird watcher they are marvelous sight.

Arrival will be in the late evening, dinner and stay overnight at Community Bandas or Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel as you prepare for the tomorrow’s event!

gorilla4Day 7: Gorilla Trekking

Early morning breakfast and head for gorilla trekking with a guide together with other tourists group. The trek is strenuous but enjoyable. This is the major tourist attraction in Bwindi. Carry packed lunch with you have it at a picnic site in the forest.

The thrill of your encounter with these gentle giants will erase your difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Spend time in awe watching gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards.You are likely to enjoy a close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic from vines in a delightfully playful display.

Return from tracking gorillas, have dinner and overnight at Community Bandas or Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel.

Day 8: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After early breakfast head for Ishasha, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, carry out a game drive where you may sight tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is dominated by acacia woodland and scrubland and features the meandering Ishasha River, banked by a riparian forest.
After picnic lunch drive all the way to the northern sector of the park stopping at baboon greeting spot, continue and check in at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology (budget). If you tracked Mgahinga, will drive strait via Kabale and a stop on the way for lunch and continue to Queen Elizabeth and check in at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.

The evening will be at leisure dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning visit Kyambura gorge and track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. View a variety of monkeys. After lunch take 2-hour boat/launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. This water way connects two lakes- Edward and George and is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes and elephants at the
banks.

Evening will be at leisure, dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala – Entebbe – Departure

After breakfast drive to Kampala then to Entebbe via Mubende stopping at interesting forest and swamp spots with lunch on the way. You will arrive in time for your departure flight.

4 Days / 3 Nights, Kenya Wildlife under Canvas Wildlife Trail

Trip highlights: This is a four days, three nights camping safari. On this safari, you will be able to view various species of wild game including the lion, leopard, cheetah, the elephant and a host of other plains animals. You will also be able to see attractions like, Mt. Kilimanjaro, lava flows, caves and the famous and beautiful Mzima Springs. You will travel in a tour minibus and stay in tented camps.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival- Mombasa – Tsavo East National park

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will met by our tour manager for a safari briefing then depart for Tsavo East National Park arriving in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive till dusk.

The Tsavo East National Park has an interesting and diverse history including: the Waliangulu and Kamba tribes used the park as a hunting ground prior to gazette-ment; the first European to see Mount Kenya, rev. Dr. L. Krapf, journeyed on foot through this area in 1848; during the construction of the railway bridge over the Tsavo River in 1898, lions (the famed man-eaters of Tsavo) terrorized the workers, killing over 130 people before being killed by Col. J. H. Patterson. During World War 1, British forces along the Tsavo river to counter threats from invading German soldiers from Tanganyika (now Tanzania); the European explorer Captain Lugards a European explorer passed through the area on his way to Uganda.

DSC09399Day 2: Tsavo East – Tsavo West – Amboseli
Pre Breakfast game viewing drive. After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West for game viewing till lunch time. Have parked lunch at Tsavo west National park and proceed to Amboseli arriving in the evening with game viewing en route and check in at the Kimana tented Camp or Similar.

Amboseli National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Africa’s highest Mountain – Mt Kilimanjaro sits on the upper slopes of Amboseli National park. Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snow white peak lies across the border in Tanzania. Seeing the Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For the enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the Elephants, Amboseli is a home to; buffalos, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals.

Day 3: Amboseli National park

Morning and afternoon game viewing drives.

The combination of scenery, people and animals is what makes the park fascinating. Beautifully situated at the foot of the towering Kilimanjaro, it is the home of the brightly painted Maasai tribe. You may be able to see lions, cheetahs, spotted hyena and wild dogs. Also the Kaffir Buffaloes, Burch ells zebras and the herds of elephants. All this animals come to drink water at the water holes consisting of small lakes or muddy bonds kept filled up by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.

All meals and overnight stay at Kimana tented Camp or similar.

Day 4: Amboseli – Nairobi – Watamu

Pre breakfast game viewing if you still want some more. After enjoying breakfast depart the park for Watamu where you will be dropped at the place of your choice in Watamu.
