Highlights: This is an 8 days safari that starts from Nairobi and ends in Nairobi. It takes you to explore the traditional way of living in the rural areas of Kenya and at the same time contribute to different developmental projects in each area. The cultural tours can offer you several adventures, among the options are visits to local medicine men, visiting tribes and exploring the rituals of the Maasai. You will stay in simple but clean accommodations on full board basis. You will travel privately in using a comfortable safari vehicle.
Day 1 : Arrival – Nairobi
Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our Tour Manager who will brief you on your safari and then after transfer you to The Panafric Hotel in Nairobi for rest and overnight stay. (We assume that you arrive in the evening of this day).

Day 2 : Nairobi – Ruiki Cultural village in kiambu and visit to the Bomas of Kenya
After breakfast, depart to Ruiki Cultural Village and spend the morning part of the day there. Return to Nairobi for lunch. In the afternoon at 2.30pm visit the Bomas of Kenya, you cannot afford to miss the most existing traditional dancers and acrobatic shows. The Bomas of Kenya offers Kenya’s culture in miniature! It is a must to all visitors who visit Kenya and are interested in having a taste of African Culture. In the evening, you will transfer back to your hotel for rest and overnight.

Day 3: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
After morning breakfast at your hotel, check out and depart to Masai Mara National reserve. Arrive in Mara in time for lunch & checking in at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will have game viewing drive till dusk, and then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Maasai Mara – Kericho – Kisumu
On this day after breakfast, you will check out and first visit a Maasai village, then proceed to the ever green Town of Kericho to have the spectacular view of the Tea Plantation. Have some times to interact with Tea pickers and learn much more about the laborers. Lunch will be served at Kericho Hotel. After lunch, proceed to Kisumu where dinner and overnight will be provided at Le savannah Hotel in Kisumu.
Day 5 : Full day excursion in Kisumu
On this day, you will spend the day visiting the various attractions of this Lakeside City including the Local Kisumu National Museum which is rich in cultural, community and archaeological artefacts, the Impala Park, the Kiboko Bay Beach Resort to see the hippos and have a boat ride, Dunga beach and the Boat landing areas.
Visit the childrens’ Orphanges near this point, proceed to the Ship landing area – the pier, the Kisumu Municipal Market and the Kisumu Munucipal Fish Market, continue to the Riat hills for a panoramic view of the Kisumu City, the Kisumu International Airport and Lake Victoria from a birds eye view. Have a traditional foods lunch (Kuon – Ugali and Rech – Fish) if you so wish at Tilapia Beach Resort by the shores of Lake Victoria or at Kisumu Beach Resort. You will then return back to your hotel in the late afternoon in readiness for the next day.

Day 6 : Kisumu City – Kogelo Village (Granny Sarah Obama’s Children orphanage)
After breakfast depart for Kogelo village, to Mama Sarah Obama’s children orphanage. On your way, you will stop at the Equator line point at Maseno; have a photo session here and proceed to Lwanda Market before turning right on to the road to Ng’iya Market; you will visit a market day on your way on this day and see how market days are in this side of the world. You will then proceed to Kogelo and visit the Village dispensary, the Nyang’oma Kogelo Market where President Barack Obama used to help Granny Sarah selling vegetables when he visited his ancestral home. Proceed to the school and then to the actual home where you will meet Grand mother – Sarah Obama. You will have some tee party with the orphans of Kogelo who are taken care of by the Sarah Obama Childrens Foundation. Time allowing, you will visit Siaya town and the adjacent homes to witness the lifestyle of the populace in Alego Siaya and the agro tours at the Ulafu village. You will proceed to Yala swamp where you will see the famous – Dominion Farm of Calvin Burgess from Oklohama. Dinner and overnight at Kogelo Resort
Day 7 : Kogelo – Kakamega Forest/Crying stone – Kisumu
After an early breakfast at 6.30am, you will drive to Kakamega, and arrive at Kakamega forest. Kakamega is a virgin tropical rainforest; it is home to a huge variety of birds (more than 300 species recorded). Casqued hornbills and Ross’s touracos and Great Blue touracos are all found here. It is the only place apart from Mt Elgon where the rare De Brazza’s monkey can be observed. Other monkey species found here are the Blue monkey, red-tailed monkey, the black and white Colobus, butterfly monkey and the blue monkey. The forest is also rich in medicinal research.

Day 8 : Kisumu – Nairobi – Departure
You will have the option to fly to Nairobi depending on your departing flight ticket or use the road back to Nairobi. You will be dropped to your preferred destination where the safari will end.
